A while ago now, Glow in the Dark pebbles have appeared on the daily deals. Sites including Treatme, Spreets and Grabone have featured these.
GLOW TIME Over 300 people brought either 200 or 400, Blue or Green or a mix of both on Grabone last week. The ad didn't say how long they glowed for, but in their question and answers section Grabone said they glowed 8-12 hours. Treatme, selling seemingly the same stones (same colour and shape and size) say they glow up to 2-3 hours. Spreets does not say today (03.05.2014) how long they glow for. But they strongly imply they last hours? "Use as a night time guide for footpaths or steps" they say. Here are www.glowinthedark.co.nz our stones last 10-12 hours and we don't recommend they stay outside. Our long term testing shows that they plastic breaks down over 6 months to a year. We get our stones made to our specifications - using the best glow powder possible. And do in-house testing before selling anything to ensure we say what we mean, and mean what we say! COST and SHIPPING Grabone $29 for 200 + 6.50 shipping - No rural or PO Box. Spreets $25 for 200 + 8.99 shipping - No rural or PO Box. Treatme $29 for 200 + 8.00 shipping - No rural or PO Box. www.glowinthedark.co.nz $36 + $ shipping - All addresses FAQ to www.glowinthedark.co.nz *Will you match the price? NO! Our stones are made to our specifications and use the best glow powder we can get. Our glow pebbles glow easily for 10-12 hours and we have excellent feedback and many repeat customers. *I've brought glow pebbles before and they don't glow. Obviously you didn't buy them from us! We have excellent feedback and our in-house testing proves the glow times. We suggest you go back to whoever you brought them from and demand a refund for the cost and postage you wasted! If they refuse, then mention 'the commerce commision' who can impose fines on traders who rip off customers. *I brought them 6 months ago and now they are cracking outside. We recommend that the pebbles remain indoors as they are not UV stable over time. I suggest you demand a refund from the seller if they promoted them as outdoor pebbles. They are not fit for purpose. As above, mention the commerce commission if your refund demand is not met. They have powers that cost nothing to the complainer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We hope this helps. I have tried to remain as factual as possible when writing this article. All glow pebbles are not made equal, with glow times ranging from 20 mins to 12 hours, depending on the glow powder used. In New Zealand you are covered by consumer laws and this includes goods imported by local companies such as the deal sites that you pay your money too. They have to ensure that the items are fit for purpose, and fit the same specifications as the advert said, ie - glow for 10-12 hours - then they should.
